Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Pineline, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Terralata, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Description of Service
Pineline is a mobile-first gear planning and readiness platform for outdoor enthusiasts. It connects your owned gear inventory, trip-specific packing lists, live product catalogs and pricing, and actionable recommendations. The service supports offline capability and cross-device sync to keep your data accessible wherever you are.
3. User Accounts
Anonymous access: You can start using Pineline immediately without creating an account. An anonymous identifier is assigned to store and sync your data.
Identity claiming: Anonymous users may later sign in to claim their data and link it to a full account.
Account responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
One account per person: Each individual may maintain only one Pineline account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse the service is prohibited.
4. User Content
Ownership: You retain ownership of all gear data, packing lists, photos, and other content you create within Pineline (“User Content”).
License grant: By using Pineline, you grant Terralata, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service.
Shared lists: Content shared via public links may be viewed by anyone with the link. You are responsible for the content you choose to share publicly.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Pineline to:
- Scrape, crawl, or use any automated means to collect data from the service
- Abuse, overload, or otherwise interfere with the service or its infrastructure
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use the service for any illegal activity
- Attempt to access other users’ data or accounts without authorization
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application or its underlying technology
6. Affiliate Links
Pineline may display affiliate links to third-party retailers. Purchases made through these links generate a commission for Terralata, LLC at no extra cost to you.
Pineline does not guarantee the prices, availability, or quality of products offered by third-party retailers. Any purchases you make through affiliate links are subject to the terms and conditions of those retailers.
FTC Disclosure: Pineline earns a commission on purchases made through these links at no extra cost to you.
7. Intellectual Property
The Pineline brand, logo, design, and code are the property of Terralata, LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.
Product catalog data displayed within Pineline may be sourced from third parties and is subject to their respective terms.
Your User Content remains your property as described in Section 4 of these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
Pineline is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We make no warranty regarding the accuracy of gear recommendations, weight calculations, or packing suggestions provided by the service.
We make no warranty regarding the quality, safety, or suitability of products purchased through affiliate links displayed in the app.
Terralata, LLC is not responsible for any loss of or damage to gear based on recommendations provided by the app. All outdoor activities carry inherent risks, and you are solely responsible for your gear choices and safety.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Terralata, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, even if Terralata, LLC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the aggregate liability of Terralata, LLC for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to Terralata, LLC in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty dollars ($50.00).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Terralata, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Termination
Terralata, LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the service at its sole discretion and without prior notice if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole judgment, to be harmful to the service, other users, or Terralata, LLC.
User termination: You may terminate your relationship with Pineline at any time by deleting your account through the app’s settings screen.
Effect of termination: Upon termination by either party, your data will be handled in accordance with the “Data Retention & Deletion” section of our Privacy Policy. Sections 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), 12 (Dispute Resolution & Governing Law), and 14 (General Provisions) survive termination.
12. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
Informal resolution first: Before initiating any legal proceeding, you agree to send a written description of the dispute to support@pineline.app and allow thirty (30) days for good-faith negotiation.
Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Venue: Any dispute not resolved through informal negotiation shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California.
13. Changes to Terms
Terralata, LLC may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via a prominent in-app notification (such as a banner or dialog) and, where you have provided an email address, by email. Your continued use of Pineline after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised.
14. General Provisions
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Terralata, LLC regarding the use of Pineline, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
Waiver: The failure of Terralata, LLC to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure outages, or pandemics.
Assignment: Terralata, LLC may assign or transfer these Terms without restriction. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
